THERESA stands for “Training for a Hydrogen Economy based Renewable Energy Society in the Anthropocene”
THERESA is a project involving the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Spain as coordinator, the University of Groningen and the University of Eastern Finland.
THERESA proposes the first doctoral programme of legal specialists in the field of hydrogen economy. It combines the focus on three specific themes of regulatory intervention in the hydrogen economy: 1) reduction of legal fragmentation, 2) stimulating sustainable hydrogen usage, and 3) societal engagement, with three methodological approaches, doctrinal constructivism, empirical legal research and legal comparativism, to advance scientific knowledge and form the doctoral experts needed to contribute to the development of a hydrogen economy. To our knowledge, this is the first research and doctoral programme which proposes a systematic approach to the legal study of hydrogen economy combining these methodological approaches. The combination of these methodologies will enable THERESA to create experts and researchers that can contribute to the development of the hydrogen economy by integrating legal effectiveness.
